Le Strade della Mozzarella is one of Italy’s most loved culinary events held every year in Paestum, a small town not far from Naples in the very heart of one of the main mozzarella di bufala’s production area.
Since 2011 has been involving Michelin starred chefs from Italy and abroad, pizza and pastry-chefs, food craftsmen and producers to experiment with mozzarella and other buffalo milk based products and to promote the authentic Italian food culture.
Now for the first time LSDM goes abroad, with a European tour bringing the best Italian chefs and products in three main cities. After the huge success obtained in Paris (November, 2014), the event will touch Geneva and London in February 2015.
The London event will take place on February 23, from 2,30 pm to 7,45 pm, at the BAGLIONI HOTEL in Hyde Park Gate.
Overlooking Kensington Gardens, the prestigious hotel – member of The Leading Hotels of the World – is the perfect location to frame the Made in Italy excellences and to welcome guests with the renowned Italian hospitality.
The event also involves many important brands of the Made in Italy food&wine industry to showcase their top products, offering tastings, matchings and cooking demos where mozzarella will go along with some of the Italian food and wine best products and brands.
Mozzarella Roads will bring to London the real Neapolitan pizza with Francesco and Salvatore Salvo owners of the eponymous award-winning pizzeria in San Giorgio a Cremano, near Naples;
Simone Bonini will showcase his fantastic ice-cream: while he daily makes his well-known ice-cream in Florence and Rome’s Carapina parlours, this time he will use buffalo milk to delight the audience and disclose the product’s many layers of taste.
Michelin-starred chef Michele Deleo and Andrea Aprea will show their creative takes on mozzarella, which is commonly eaten “bare and simple” in Italy, given its delicious taste;
Giorgio Scarselli and Maria Rina will bring to London some of the most iconic and traditional recipes from Campania and Southern Italy: the real Neapolitan “ragù” – a thick and intense meat sauce used to dress the pasta during festive family meals – and the Panzanella, a staple of the summer Italian cooking made with chunks of water-soaked crusty bread seasoned with tomatoes and Mozzarella di Bufala.
Throughout the whole day, visitors will also have the chance to taste the products of our sponsors and partners in the dedicated area and to meet some of the best Italian F&W producers.
